Joe's birthday song - Earth, Wind, & Fire

I have always thought that it was just the coolest thing ever to have my birthday immortalized in song. Now...I might feel different if the song sucked. So I guess I just got lucky by being born on September 21st, 1969. The 1978 song “September” by Earth, Wind, & Fire literally opens with the following lyrics...

“Do you remember...the 21st night of September...”

Forget the small detail that I was actually born at 6:25 in the morning. I’ll just take the fact that the date is right on the money...and that the song itself is a joyful groove with that amazing EW&F horn sound. And since that date had no real significance to the band...other than the fact that “it was simply the number that sounded right”...I have always been more than happy to claim it as my own.

So if you’re unfamiliar...please take a moment to enjoy the video below in all of its 70s funkadelic glory...and then maybe you too will be “chasin’ the clouds away.”
